We introduce an incentivized method to study interdependence, grounded in threshold models. We apply it to a stratified U.S. sample of 5,000+ Asian, Black, Hispanic, and White adults to examine support for affirmative action. We document substantial heterogeneity in thresholds consistent with preregistered hypotheses from a model. Following changes in federal support for affirmative action, thresholds shift even as perceived benefits and beliefs remain unchanged, indicating that thresholds provide insights not captured by standard behavioral measures.

Draw Forum Thu, 22 Oct 2026 08:15:57 GMT Andrew Taylor 8ac672c7a05aed5901a06b5015b52eae 17/11 12pm-1pm: MIEW (Macro & International Economics Workshop) - David Boll (PGR) /fac/soc/economics/intranet/manage/calendar/?calendarItem=8ac672c6a1a0e34501a1ab63a91270fa
When: 12pm - 1pm, Tue, 17 Nov '26

Where: S2.79

Title to be advised.

Macro/International Workshop Thu, 05 Nov 2026 11:06:37 GMT Andrew Taylor 8ac672c6a1a0e34501a1ab63a91270fb 17/11 1pm-2pm: SAWP (Seminar Applied Work in Progress - formerly CWIP) - Titir Bhattacharya (Warwick) /fac/soc/economics/intranet/manage/calendar/?calendarItem=8ac672c5a0803c1901a0a013b8642f2f
When: 1pm - 2pm, Tue, 17 Nov '26

Where: S2.79

Title to be advised.

SAWP Workshop Wed, 30 Sep 2026 14:45:43 GMT Andrew Taylor 8ac672c5a0803c1901a0a013b8642f30 17/11 2:15pm-3:30pm: Applied & Development Economics Seminar - Evan Soltas (Princeton) /fac/soc/economics/intranet/manage/calendar/?calendarItem=8ac672c4a00dae0f01a00ed5d80e0071
When: 2:15pm - 3:30pm, Tue, 17 Nov '26

Where: S2.79

Title to be advised.

Applied & Development Economics Seminar Mon, 17 Aug 2026 13:56:01 GMT Andrew Taylor 8ac672c4a00dae0f01a00ed5d80e0072 18/11 1pm-2pm: Teaching & Learning Seminar - David W.
